BPICC requested for re-introduction of 20% rebate on electricity bills supplied to poultry industry

Agrilife24.com: Bangladesh Poultry Industries Central Council (BPICC) has requested for re-introduction of 20% rebate on electricity bills supplied to the poultry industry.  Besides the leaders of poultry industry sought the cooperation of the Agriculture Minister on how to spread the message that the farm's chicken meat is safe and healthy.

Sunday (February 7) at noon in the Secretariat of the Ministry of Agriculture,this was stated by the top leaders of the Poultry Industries Central Council (BPICC) during a meeting with Dr. Muhammad Abdur Razzaque MP.  The delegation included BPICC President Moshiur Rahman, Vice-President Shamsul Arefin Khaled, World Poultry Association of Bangladesh Branch (WPSA-BB) President Abu Lutfe Fazle Rahim Khan and General Secretary of Feed Industries Association of Bangladesh (FIAB) Md.  Ahsanuzzaman.

During the meeting, the existing problems and possibilities in the poultry industry of the country were discussed.  BPICC leaders highlighted the problems of the poultry industry due to corona.  The delegates requested the Agriculture Minister to further increase the production of maize in the country.  They said almost all poultry feed comes from corn.  Therefore, if production could be increased, the cost of feed would be reduced a lot.
The Agriculture Minister said that the message of safe and healthy chicken meat should be conveyed to all.  People’s interest in farm chickens needs to increase. The Ministry of Agriculture will provide necessary assistance for this purpose.  He said work is underway to further increase maize production.  The climate of the country is very conducive for maize cultivation.  Maize is now yielding well even in the saline lands of the south.  Therefore, corn production will double in a few years.

During the meeting, the Dr. Muhammad Abdur Razzaque MP assured the delegation that necessary assistance would be provided by the Ministry of Agriculture for the development and growth of the country's poultry industry.
