International Chefs Day 2025 was Held in Dhaka

Desk report:The 'International Chefs Day 2025' was celebrated with grandeur on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the Krishibid Institution (KIB), Khamarbari, Dhaka, under the initiative of the Bangladesh Culinary Foundation (BCF). This year's theme was "Food Explorers". Through this theme, the Bangladesh Culinary Foundation is working to highlight the country's culinary industry on a global scale and emphasize the importance of food security and sustainable development.

Distinguished chefs from home and abroad, as well as esteemed guests, were present at the event. Notable segments included honouring and evaluating the talents of chefs from various countries with accolades, crests, and certificates.

Dr. Naznin Kawshar Chowdhury, Secretary and Executive Chairman of NSDA, was present as the Chief Guest. Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, Managing Director of SME Foundation Bangladesh, was a Special Guest. Md. Mahiuddin Helal, Director of the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, was also present as a Special Guest.

Among others present were Master Chef Nazim Khan, Chief Advisor of the Bangladesh Culinary Foundation, and Chef Sahid Shahin, President of the Bangladesh Culinary Foundation. Additionally, many other respected guests and dignitaries of the country attended the ceremony.
More than 800 chefs, culinary professionals, and students from across the country participated in this day-long event.

The full-day programme included:

  • Live Cooking Demonstration,
  • Culinary Competition for Young Chefs,
  • Honouring of Accomplished Chefs,
  • Panel Discussion on Food Security, Sustainable Food Systems, and Innovation,
  • Cultural Programme and a Colourful Rally.

This largest Chef Day event in Bangladesh holds special significance both nationally and internationally in the culinary industry. 

Sahid Shahin, President of the Bangladesh Culinary Foundation, said, "Through this event, we want to internationally showcase Bangladesh's culinary talent, innovation, and the importance of a sustainable food system outside the country."
