Technical seminar on "Impact of Feed Enzyme for Sustainable Aquaculture"" was held in Dhaka

Agrilife24.com: Feeding enzymes to shrimps and fishes is one of the major nutritional advances in the aquaculture sector since last few years. Advanced technology as well as sustainable nutritional products are essential to take our fish feed industry to a sustainable level in the aqua sector. Aquaculture nutritionist have been trying to improve the nutritional value of fish feed by enzyme supplementation.

To reduce the cost of feed production for the country's fish feed industry, Huvepharma & Neons Ltd. organized a technical seminar on "Impact of Feed Enzyme for Sustainable Aquaculture" at Hotel Sarina Dhaka on Monday (10 July).

At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Dilip Kumar Chowdhury,Business Development & Product Manager (Aqua-Bangladesh) gave a welcome speech. He Introduced the main speaker Dr. Daniel Arana, Global Product Manager Aqua. Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, Managing Director of Neons Limited, in his speech highlighted the mission and vision of their company and extended his best wishes to all the guests.

Dr. Daniel Arana, the main discussant of the seminar, believes that the use of enzymes as a feed additive has rapidly expanded and significant instrument for the use in aqua feed. Although the economic and social benefits of enzymes have been well established, the future of such enzymes will make an effective contribution for the aqua business in Bangladesh. Due to the current high price of raw materials, their products will help in reducing the cost of feed production he added.

Successful and sustainable aquaculture depends on economically viable and environmental friendly feeds. Feed is the major operational cost involving 50 to 60 percent of the total cost in intensive farming. The major feed ingredients are now very expensive worldwide he added.

The presence one of renowned nutritionist Dr Ravindra Masali, Associate Vice President Nutrition, Godrej Agrovet Limited, India made the seminar very interesting & effective. He gave some suggestions along with question and answers to make the aqua sector of Bangladesh more sustainable.

In the closing speech, Mr. Akmal Reyaz, Business Head Dairy & Aqua Division, expressed his gratitude for being able to market these state-of-the-art technology enzymes in the aquaculture sector in the Bangladesh market. He also also expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to all the distinguished guests who came in the semianr.
