Agrilife24.com:ACI Seed arranged a Field Day Program on "Pael", a promising variety of bitter gourd of East-West Seed dated. The field day was held with the assistance of M/S Beej Utsab at Sadar, Bogura recently. ACI Seed is giving a special focus on the variety considering the market potentiality.
"Pael" is a mid-segment variety of Bitter Gourd. The average fruit weight of the variety is 120-130 gm and the average yield is 10-12 MT/Acre. The fruit color is shiny dark green and the fruit length is 15-16 cm. Moreover, "Pael" is a year-round variety and the specialty of the variety is about 90% of fruits are the same in weight, size, shape and color. To promote the product, ACI Seed is proactively promoting it in the market with the support of East West Seed Bangladesh Limited.
The ACI Seed Team of Bogura Area arranged the field day program to show the performance of the variety to the retailers, farmers and DAE officials. Mr. Mostafa Kamal, Country Manager; Mr. Khaled Mostafa, Product Manager; Mr. Muhibullah, PDS Manager, Mr. Sabbir Hossain, Market Development Officer of East West Seed and Mr. Abdullah, Mr. Prasenjit, Mr. Imran Khan, Territory Officer of ACI Seed were present in the program.
More than 80 farmers and retailers participated on the event day. The Officials of EWS and ACI discussed the characteristics and performance of the variety. The farmer cultivated "Pael" in 40 decimal lands this year and already harvested 4100 Kg from the land.
