Bovivax LSD-N: A unique vaccine to prevent Lumpy Skin Diseases

Business Correspondent: Lumpy skin disease or LSD is a deadly virus-borne skin disease for cows that has recently caused farm damage in our country. It is a skin disease caused by a virus that infects cattle. This greatly reduces the productivity of the animal and in many cases leads to the death of the animal.  In this situation, ACI Animal Health, one of the leading companies in the field of animal health sector in Bangladesh, has come forward to protect the farmers from financial loss by taking preventive measures against the disease.

BOVIVAX LSD-N vaccine, developed by Moroccan company M.C.I Santé animale has raised hopes among cattle farmers in the country. It is registered in the European Union and manufactured to GMP standards. The official launch of the imported Bovivax LSD-N vaccine was announced by Dr. Sheikh Azizur Rahman DG, DLS as the chief guest on last Saturday (May 8) through a virtual event. Dr. Sheikh Azizur Rahman said, ACI Animal Health has always been doing for the welfare of the country and the people. The ACI has been warmly welcomed by the private sector for providing quality vaccines. Through this program, he hoped that people across the country will welcome the Bovivax LSD-N vaccine in the same way they have welcomed the ACI in the past.

The event was conducted by Dr. Humayun Arefin, Head of Marketing, ACI Animal Health while guest of Honour Prof. Dr. Nitish Chandra Debnath, One Health Bangladesh Coordinator & Former Vice-Chancellor, Chittagong Veterinary & Animal Science University, Special guests Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Director General, Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute Mr. Imran Hossain, President, Bangladesh Dairy Farmer Association.

To prevent the disease and cooperate the farmers, ACI Animal Health took necessary steps to expedite the import of the vaccine under the guidance and proper leadership of The company's Managing Director and CEO of Dr. F.H Ansarey. ACI's senior executives have ensured that the vaccine will reach farmers across the country through their huge workforce. In addition to this, there are more than 50 veterinarians who are providing technical services to the  farmers.

The event was attended by senior officials and experts from Bangladesh Livestock Industry and ACI Animal Health.

It is noted that cattle LSD has been infected all over the country.  LSD is a deadly viral disease for cattle that causes farm damage.  The average mortality rate in Africa is 40%.  Although it has been seen more than once in the form of epidemics in Africa, the outbreak of this disease in cattle has never been seen in the form of epidemics in our country.
