Business Correspondent:The 4th Annual General Meeting of Bangladesh Agro Feed Ingredients Importers and Traders Association (BAFIITA) was held on Saturday (March 20) at Hang Out Restaurant in the capital. Member of BAFIITA and Managing Director of HR Group Md. Habibur Rahman started the meeting by reciting from the Holy Quran.
"We have been working for the development of the country's poultry, dairy, fisheries and overall agriculture sectors” addressed by Sudhir Chowdhury, President of BAFITA in the meeting. Mr Chowdhury said “We have been making significant contributions to the country's poultry sector since 2014.
When the cost of importing raw materials increases, the ultimate effect falls on the consumer. Therefore, import of raw materials should be brought to a minimum level like VAT exemption or RMG sector. Special care should be taken in importing, storing and supplying quality products. Because, if we supply poor raw materials, it will have a bad impact on feed producers, livestock and also human health. So everyone has to be responsible in this matter Mr Chowdhury added.
The general secretary of the organization Mr. Helal Uddin presented the annual report of the past year. During this time, he highlighted the various achievements of the organization in the past one year and sought the cooperation of all to strengthen the organization.
Jayonta Kumar Dev, Vice President of BAFIITA and Managing Director, Nature Care; Member of BAFIITA & MD of Asha Feed & Director of Ibratas Trading Company Mr. Gias Uddin Khan, BAFIITA Organizing Secretary and Managing Director of Khan Agro Products. Syedul Haque Khan, senior vice president of BAFIITA Amirul Islam Montu sought the cooperation of all to take the organization further.
Altaf Biswas, Managing Director, BTC Feed Ingredients and Additives and Md. Enamul Haque Enam MD of Enam Feed and Chicks Ltd., among others, addressed the meeting. All the members expressed their opinions on how to take the organization further and what to do to solve the import problem.
Abul Kalam Azad, Joint Secretary General of BAFIITA and Managing Director of Dhaka Group, was recently elected as the Upazila Chairman of Debiddar of Cumilla greeted by BAFIITA. New Members of the organizations were also greeted warmly during the meeting.
Ms. Mamtaz Hossain the proprietor of M/S Eaty Enterprise, acted as the moderator of the entire event.
