
Staff correspondent: Klybeck Life Sciences, a Switzerland-based global biosciences company, and Popular Pharmaceuticals PLC, a leading pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh, jointly organized a technical seminar and launch ceremony for three innovative veterinary vaccines at Sarah Resort, Gazipur on Saturday November 8. The event aimed to highlight the importance of vaccination in ensuring animal health and biosecurity in Bangladesh's poultry and dairy & cattle sectors.
The launched vaccines, Aviline FLU H9-K, Aviline FLU H9 ND-K, and Boviline LSD-L, offer protection against Avian Influenza, New Castle Disease in poultry, and Lumpy Skin Disease in cattle, respectively. Veterinarians and consultants at the event expressed optimism that these vaccines will significantly contribute to maintaining biosecurity in farms and promoting the country's livestock development.
The program began with an opening speech by Dr. Sazzad Hossain, NSM, Animal Health Unit, Popular Pharmaceuticals PLC, followed by an introduction of the Klybeck team by Dr. Abdullah Mamun, RM, Klybeck.
Darko Grahovac, Group Director, Sales, Marketing & Export, Klybeck, presented an overview of Klybeck’s global business operations, while Dr. Ahmed Elshafei, RM, Klybeck, highlighted the company’s innovations.
The technical presentation on the newly launched vaccines was delivered by Dr. Hussein, Group Chief Technical Manager, Klybeck.

Esteemed guests, including leading veterinarians, consultants, and local experts, shared their remarks, expressing confidence that these vaccines will play a vital role in farm-level disease prevention.
The welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Alberto Giovanetti, Counsellor and Head of Political, Economic, and Communication Affairs at the Swiss Embassy, who emphasized the significance of international collaboration in advancing animal health.

Speakers highlighted that vaccination remains one of the most crucial pillars of animal health, particularly in a country like Bangladesh where poultry and dairy/cattle contribute significantly to the national economy. The newly introduced vaccines designed to combat Avian Influenza, Newcastle Disease, and Lumpy Skin Disease are expected to greatly benefit farmers by enhancing biosecurity and reducing disease-related losses.
